Database Developer
Job Description
Provide technical support in developing and maintaining database applications with heavy focus on dataconversion and data integration supporting back-end processes. Create scripts for data maintenance or bug fixes. Review, analyze anddocument data and workflow processes. Good data analysis, application troubleshooting and writingskillsare required.
This position requires at least three years of experience developing relational database applications with aprimary focus on complex SQL joins; three years of experience creating scripts in a development environment, testing scripts in a quality assurance environment and implementing large data updates intoproduction databases.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop and maintain web-based business process and database applications.
• Create scripts and DTS packages for data integration, data maintenance or bug fixes.
• Write SQL statement for ad-hoc report generation.
• Create databases, configuring them to meet developer and user requirements.
• Creating tables and views for developer and end user needs.
• Manages and maintains the data dictionaries.
• Modify database structures as required by developers due to business or application requirements
• Analyzing massive number of tables from different databases instances.
• Monitoring the Database Server's Health and Tuning Accordingly to ensure acceptable level of performance and availability.
Requirements
• Possesses at least Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent and must be a Microsoft Certified professional for SQL
• At least three years of experience creating scripts, testing in QA and implementing large data updates intoproduction databases.
• Excellent in the use of the import and export utilities
• Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Strong Experience in SQL database designing, development, normalization and profiling
• Knowledge of advance features of MS SQL server 2005 - 2008.
• Good working knowledge of Transactional SQL, Stored Procedures and Data Interface technologies.
• Experience with data management and data processing flow charting techniques
• Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices
• Experience with, 2-3 tier server-client computing and relational database environments
• Proven experience in monitoring and tuning databases to provide a high availability service
• Good knowledge of all MS SQL backup and recovery scenarios.
• Good knowledge of MS SQL security management
• Good knowledge of MS SQL data integrity.
Skills
• SQL Server 2005 / SQL Server 2008
• Good Web Development knowledge (ASP.NET, CSS, HTML)
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
• Must be a Microsoft qualified professional for MS SQL
